You, with a View - Jessica Joyce
my review : ✮✮✮✮
This romance is simultaneously heart-achingly sweet and incredibly sexy. Chock full of witty banter, steamy tension, and some honest conversations around grief, this story was a total delight.
We meet Noelle when she’s not her best—she’s been laid off from her job, is living in her childhood bedroom, and her grandmother passed away 6 months ago. She finds herself rummaging through her grandmother’s old things as she works through her grief and is shocked to find a photo and a love letter t from a man who is most definitely not her grandfather. Desperate to learn more about her grandma, Noelee takes to TikTok to share the photo and ask if anyone knows the man. As luck would have it, this man’s grandson is on TikTok and helps orchestrate a meeting. Imagine Noelle’s surprise when she meets her grandma’s former paramour and quickly sees his grandson as her high school nemesis. Also, he’s totally hot, dreamy, and majorly successful, so he makes Noelle feel like a total loser. Long story short, these three embark on a road trip together, and sparks fly/ tensions run high/ (non-romantic) passions are rediscovered!
I love a book filled with yearning and tension, so this was right up my alley. A well-done enemies-to-lovers story that has me excited to see what Jessica Joyce writes next. Not a B.R.A.D., but this is an open-door romance, yes, please!).
Yes, this book is very similar to Mrs. Nash’s Ashes! Everyone’s writing sexy stories that involve their grandparents + a road trip, and I love it. Both books are worth reading; I think MNA is my favorite, but that might be due to the order in which I read them. If you’re a romance fan, I think you’ll love this.
As a node to their road trip through the beautiful southwest, this book is best paired with a Sonoma Sunset; swipe for the recipe!
