Count My Lies

Count My Lies - Sophie Stava
my review : ✮✮✮✮
What a twisty & tense domestic thriller! I constantly thought I had this story all figured out, only to be caught off guard by a twist or turn. Super quick and engrossing.
This story is about Sloan Caraway, a 30-something woman who has an issue with compulsive lying. Her lying isn’t necessarily malicious; she just needs an escape from her drab life, and the lies she tells are always more exciting than her bleak reality. So, when she sees a little girl at the park get stung by a bee, she tells the girl’s dad she’s a nurse and helps him comfort & treat his daughter. As a thank you for her service, Sloan finds herself invited for dinner by this family, and soon she is intertwined in their lives, all while trying to keep track of the web of lies she’s woven…
This hooked me from the beginning and was impossible to put down. It may be a tad unbelievable at times, but I never mind that in a thriller. IMO, this is a perfect thriller in that it won’t keep you up at night, and it’s not too dark.
