Beg, Borrow, Or Steal

Beg, Borrow, Or Steal - Sarah Adams
my review : ✮✮✮✮
Sarah Adams just knows how to write a sweet and swoony story. Her books are so earnest and adorable that they provide a great escape. This is book 3 in her Rome, Kentucky series, but all books can be read as standalones!
This is a love story between Emily and Jack, two teachers who have been competing against each other since college. When Jack moves back to Rome, Kentucky, after a broken-off engagement and ends up as Emily’s next-door neighbor, an unlikely friendship forms that has Emily wondering how much she really hates Jack.
This book was incredibly light and sweet. I could look past Jack’s eclectic fashion sense to see that he is a total dreamboat (whenever I pictured him, it was just in glasses and briefs… TMI?). I will say this is a lighter and fluffier take on my beloved enemies-to-lovers trope (I typically like a lot of pining and angst, what is wrong with me?), but I had a great time reading it. If you love a small-town feel, hot guys in glasses, and just downright cute stories, this is for you.
P.S. The scene-blocking scene was my favorite. I literally always imagine that’s how BRADs get written.
you’ll love this book if you love:
Interconnected romance series
Enemies to lovers (light & fluffy version)
Small town romance
my favorite quote:
“I would walk through my worst memories to get to you every single time.”
