Deep End

Deep End - Ali Hazelwood

my review : ✮✮✮✮✮

I think I was put on this earth to read Ali Hazelwood’s books. I just freaking LOVE what she writes. What is there to say that I haven’t said a million* times before? Whenever I wax poetically about Ali Hazelwood’s books, the most common negative feedback I get is that they’re all similar. I will say that Ali does do a few things in every book: she writes BRILLIANT leading women who are insanely smart, she makes STEM hot, and she creates the most stupidly sexy male leads to exist. WHO WOULDN’T WANT THAT IN EVERY BOOK? (Answer: a good deal of you. HA!) But I want it in every book! If Ali Hazelwood wrote a phone book, I would be squealing and kicking my feet up by the letter “B.”

When I heard this was a college romance, I wasn’t thrilled. I always feel too old reading them. But I totally forgot what I learned from her book Check & Mate (a YA novel that I was steering clear of because of the aforementioned YA), which is... if Ali writes it, I freaking love it.

This is one of those books where you are breathless just waiting for the characters to occupy the same pages.

Okay, also, I should mention these characters get together because they are both sexually compatible. They are into the same stuff in the bedroom. I can’t say the 50 Shades of it all was exciting to me going into the book. If anything, I thought it would make me like it less. Nope. Obsessed. Trust Ali to make it insanely hot and informative. LOL. I must also state this is a B.R.A.D., but it’s not even about the sex. Okay, it is a little bit. But, just the two characters conversing had my heart (literally!) racing.

Did I write an entire review without giving you the synopsis? Yes, I did!!! It’s Ali Hazelwood! Who needs a synopsis?!

(Okay, I feel like a bad bookstagrammer. This is a love story between an Olympic swimmer and a diver. They’re thrown together and decide to have a friends-with-benefits situation.)

*Scarlett would approve of this hyperbole.

you’ll love this book if you love:

  • Watching hot swimmers in the Olympics

  • Any Ali Hazelwood book!!!!!

  • He falls first

  • BDSM-lite

my favorite quote:

“If you don’t think that I’m very aware of your presence, always, you have no idea what’s going on.”
