Before I Let Go

Before I Let Go - Kennedy Ryan
my review : ✮✮✮✮
WHY did it take me so long to read this book? This romance feels like real life. This is what happens AFTER your favorite romance novel couple drives off into the sunset. Tough subject matters (check TWs) are handled with care. This is a profoundly emotional second-chance romance.
Yasmen & Josiah were written in the stars, their relationship and marriage looked like it was ripped out of one of our romance novels, until life served them one devastating blow after another, and divorce seemed to be the only option. We meet them post-divorce as they’re on shaky footing, trying to co-parent and co-own one of Atlanta’s hottest restaurants. The pull that brought them together is still tugging at them, but the reality of their life makes it seem like a reconciliation would never be a good idea.
This book is heavy, but it is still able to make you laugh out loud, and boy, is it HOT. Kennedy Ryan is an excellent storyteller, and she’s able to write a story that feels like it could happen in real life while infusing it with the tension, yearning, & anticipation that I love in a romance novel.
I paired this book with Aunt Byrd’s insanely delicious Limoncello Pound Cake from the book - swipe to watch me attempt to make it (it’s two parts because I’m technologically challenged) and for the recipe!
