Pictures of You - Emma C Grey

my review : ✮✮✮✮

I just so thoroughly enjoyed this book. I went in with no expectations and was completely caught off guard by the story. This isn’t a romantic comedy. It’s a romance that deals with heavy subject matter that honestly caught me by surprise. Despite the heaviness, there were moments that had me laughing out loud and kicking my feet up, which is a feat!

Evie wakes up after a car accident in a hospital room, utterly confused. The nurses tell her she’s 29 and that her husband died in the car accident, but Evie has no memory of a husband or the past 13 years, as her last memory is from when she was 16. Desperate to piece together what the hell is going on, she turns to an unlikely stranger who might have a lot more history with Evie than she realizes.

Lots of pining and heartbreak but also moments of levity. I was happy I went in totally blind to the heavier parts because it really helped me empathize with the main characters. This story is told in alternating timelines and POVs. In my opinion, this is dual POV at its best.

To me, this is a book that totally swept me up, one of those stay up past your bedtime books. I am now a big Emma Grey fan and am moving her other book, The Last Love Note, up on my list. If you’ve read both, what was your favorite? If you read this one, did you love it as much as I did?

you’ll love this book if you love:

  • Pining

  • Alternating timelines & POVs

  • The Vow
