The Soulmate
The Soulmate - Sally Hepworth
my review : ✮✮✮✮
This domestic thriller was dripping with suspense. It’s one of those books that begs to be gobbled up in one sitting.
Our story is about a seemingly golden couple, Pippa & Gabe. They’ve recently moved their family into a picturesque cottage on a cliff in a gorgeous coastal town. Unfortunately, their dream home hides something disturbing; the area behind their house has been a popular spot for people to end their lives. Since moving to their new home, Gabe has found he has a special talent for literally talking the victims off the ledge. Until one night, he’s unable to save the woman who finds herself at The Drop. While the police feel it’s inevitable that Gabe could not save everyone, nor should he try to, Pippa is shocked to learn that Gabe knew the victim. This leaves Pippa reeling—what really happened that rainy night at The Drop?
I found the writing to be well done and the multiple POVs to be just brilliant. I would recommend this to anyone who is in a reading slump, as the quick chapters and the propulsive plot will make it hard for you to put this story down.
I will say my 4 ⭐️ are for great storytelling; the thriller element was not as … thrilling as I was expecting! Was that just me?
you’ll love this book if you love:
A thriller that keeps you on the edge of your seat yet allows you to sleep at night.
