The Homewreckers

The Homewreckers - Mary Kay Andrews

my review : ✮✮✮

This is such a quintessential beach read you will probably find it sand crusted and water logged in the library of your next vacation rental 🌊

Escape into the historic and humid world of Savannah, GA. Our story follows the extremely talented Savannah native, Hattie Kavanaugh, who has spent her adult life restoring homes in Charleston. After her most recent flip leaves her penniless and a bit desperate to salvage her name, she begrudgingly agrees to be a part of a home renovation reality show that will follow her renovating a condemned beach house on Tybee Island. Along with the show comes a handsome co-star, endless drama, and a murder mystery? An insane amount of twists and turns are packed into this story and you’ll leave it wishing you could hire Hattie for your own home renovation.

This is a fun escape made for beach side lounging. The mystery was a whodunit that reminded me of a more mature Nancy Drew. I thought the romance left a little bit to be desired (I wanted more sparks!) but overall the story was entertaining.

Best paired with a Paloma, I made mine with Casamigos. Cheers!
