Magnolia Parks Series
Magnolia Parks Series - Jessa Hastings
my review : ✮✮✮✮
These books are the equivalent of a bag of Doritos: impossible to put down, maybe not the best for you, but damn enjoyable!
Imagine if Gossip Girl took place in London but tossed in a few kids who get their family fortune through less than legal ventures. These books are filled with toxic relationships, incredible fashion, and absurd lives. All that to say - I was totally obsessed and loved the series, and I'm not proud of it!
Here's some more scoop on this series: Magnolia Parks is basically the IT girl of London, rich, gorgeous, & incredibly self-involved. 2 books are from her POV, with one more coming out (date TBD). Daisy Haites is another person in the Magnolia Parks universe, and 1 book is from her POV, with 3 more coming out (this feels like an unnecessary amount of books, but who am I to judge). I decided to read the books in the order they were released and felt that this made the most sense to me.
Here's a little breakdown of the books:
Magnolia Parks (Book 1): Sets the stage for this universe. Follows a totally toxic relationship that you can't help but root for. Many highs and lows, lots of drama. More name-dropping of designer goods than you know what to do with.
Daisy Haites (Book 2): Daisy's POV. I personally like Daisy more than Magnolia. She is a badass chick from the most powerful crime family in London. Guns, violence, love triangles, oh my! Our girl Daisy uses footnotes to communicate with us throughout these books. I had a love/hate with the footnotes but overall found them cute, if not a bit distracting.
Magnolia Parks, The Long Way Home (Book 3): Back to Magnolia's POV. Back to the longest will-they-won't-they scenario EVER.
Suppose you want to take a mental break from any heavy books/topics/etc.; this may be the series for you. The characters feel a bit immature, but this doesn't seem like YA to me. At times this series reminds me a bit of After by Anna Todd without any of the explicit scenes (this is pretty much a closed-door novel, aka not a BRAD).
Magnolia Parks (the woman) catalogs every outfit she and her friends wear throughout her books. This Instagram account is dedicated to those outfits, and I am obsessed with it. rite it for us. This almost made up for the fact that she wrote 4 novellas that should have been feature-length books/films.
you’ll love this book if you love:

my favorite quote:
“I think I understand for a fleeting moment why everything that’s bad and painful and sad is worth it if you love someone, because I’ll remember how he’s looking at me now forever.”
