American Dirt

American Dirt - Jeanine Cummins

my review : ✮✮✮✮

I believe this is one of my favorite books I’ve read in a loooong time 📚 .

The writing is superb, the story is impossible to put down, and my grief is unimaginable!

This book has lodged its way into my brain 🧠 and I did not stop thinking about it at any point throughout my day. This story is harrowing and was important for me to read.

You should enjoy this book with a glass of water. The writing is so insanely good you too will feel the desert heat and have a dry mouth from days in the relentless sun.

you’ll love this book if you love:

  • The Nightingale

  • Learning about people’s life journeys (if this story is as unfamiliar to you as it was to me then it’s an important read)

my favorite quote:

“Because fear and corruption work in tandem to censor the people who might otherwise discover the clues that would point to justice. There will be no evidence, no due process, no vindication.”
