A Court of Thorns and Roses

A Court of Thorns and Roses - Sarah J. Maas

my review : ✮✮✮✮✮

I am so happy I read this series. I went into it thinking I would just read book 1 and move on with my life. What an idiot! This series gets its paws on you and holds you captive for 2,000 pages.

If you hate fantasy, I would not read this book. If you have never tried fantasy but you were a Twilight girly back in the day, I think you will like this. Open your mind to pointy ears!!

To me, this series is 1/3 fantasy 1/3 action 1/3 romance. Some magic is sprinkled in these pages that grabs ahold of you and makes it very difficult to do ANYTHING else with your time. Just ask my boss! Or, actually, don’t…. Lol.

If you’re bedridden recovering from a surgery, mourning a breakup, or going through anything difficult and need a mental vacation, I would really pick this up (especially if you’re going through a breakup- no human man can compete with Rhys).

My brief thoughts on the books below-
A Court of….
1. Thorns and Roses: This is basically a love story. LOVED!! Yes, slow at first, but worth it in the end. If you’re 40% through and still don’t like it then ditch it.
2. Mist and Fury: Favorite book in the series. Made me love sick to my stomach. Like when you first get a crush on someone and you can’t eat can’t sleep.
3. Wings and Ruin: more fantasy/action, still loved.
4. Frost and Starlight: happy fluff holiday book that provided a nice breather for me.
5. Silver Flames: New POV!!! SPICY!!

It is hard to write a review without spoiling anything and it’s even harder stomaching the fact that I am married to a human man who does not have wings!!

BEST PAIRED WITH FAERIE WINE! Only drink it if it’s in a court you trust hehe 😉

WHERE DO I GO FROM HERE??

you’ll love this book if you love:

  • Twilight!

  • Constant butterflies while reading

my favorite quote:

“And I wondered if love was too weak a word for what he felt, what he’d done for me. For what I felt for him.” - A Court of Mist and Fury
