Wrong Place, Wrong Time
Wrong Place, Wrong Time - Andrea Kane
my review : ✮✮✮✮✮
I loved this book. I found it to be such a fresh break from some of the tired tropes plaguing the thrillers I've been reading. It's clever, addicting, and leaves you thinking.
This story follows Jen, a happily married mother of one sweet, charming, and happy teenage son. We meet her one October night when she's waiting up for her son to come home. She looks out the window to see him making his way back to the house when a stranger comes out of the shadows, and her son kills him. Jen is in total shock; she doesn't understand what's happened and can't make sense of this series of events. She falls asleep that night devastated and wakes up the following day… but it is somehow yesterday… and when she wakes up the next morning, it's the day before yesterday. Jen doesn't understand why but she has a chance to stop this horrific crime and hopefully get her questions answered.
This is my first Gillian McAllister book and will not be my last. It's a well-written, fast-paced book with an ending I could not anticipate.
This book left my mind whirling long after I finished the final page, a sure sign of both a great story and a fabulous book club pick because it will undoubtedly lead to some entertaining discussions!
Best enjoyed on a blustery evening with a glass of pinot noir.
