Things We Hide From The Light

Things We Hide From The Light - Lucy Score

my review : ✮✮✮

This is book 2 in the Knockemout Series. You could read this as a standalone, but I personally would not recommend that because Book 1 (Things We Never Got Over) was much better. This series is set in the small town of Knockemout, and each book follows a different couple. Overall, the stories are truly bat shit crazy. You can expect to find a steamy love story mixed with some good old fashion organized crime (unlike my beloved Mafia B.R.A.D.s. in this series, we’re on the right side of the law). I have a soft spot for this town and loooove the friend group that we get to follow throughout these books.

This story follows Nash, chief of police, who used to be the town resident good guy, ready for the white picket fence life. That is, until he narrowly survived a shooting and kidnapping (see, I told you these books are nuts!) and is now a shell of himself. Nash isn’t ready to let anyone in until he meets his new neighbor Lina who might just be the answer to his prayers, that is, until Nash figures out why Lina is really in town.…

To me, this book was ok; I found it dragged at times and didn’t suck me in quite like Book 1. I just didn’t think it had to be as long as it was. I wanted this story to be about Lucien and Sloane so badly that I couldn’t get into the Nash and Lina of it all. I still enjoyed my time reading this book and found it was riddled with Lucy Score’s signature spice which was a treat. I know this book is beloved by many of you, and that makes me so happy! Tell me if I am being unfair because of my blind excitement about Lucien’s book!

I would pair this with an old fashion because my mouth was watering as soon as Mrs. Tweedy mixed up a picture of them.

Book 3 (Things We Left Behind) is Lucien and Sloane’s book, and you know I already have that bad boy preordered. It releases on September 5th!!
