In the Company of Witches

In the Company of Witches - Auralee Wallace

my review : ✮✮✮

Just the act of picking up this thick paperback will have you reaching for your coziest blanket and favorite blend of tea. Spend a fall afternoon alternating between getting in a cat nap and reading about the witchy and wonderful Warren women.

This story is set in the sleepy New England town of Evenfall. It follows Brynn Waren, a recently widowed young woman who has moved back into her family B&B to live with her aunts. The inn has an especially difficult guest, the town grump Constance Graves. When Constance dies under mysterious circumstances during her stay, Brynn’s aunt Nora is immediately the police’s number one suspect. Brynn could get to the bottom of the matter quite quickly as she is the witch of the dead—meaning, she can communicate with ghosts—but she hasn’t used her power since her husband died. Brynn has to try to solve the mystery without the help of her magic, and quickly!

This book is a sleepy little treat. I enjoyed my time with it, but I have to admit it took me a while to get through. If you’re looking for something light to page through before drifting off to sleep, I think this is a great choice.

you’ll love this book if you love:

  • cozy mysteries
