Everything I Know About Love: A Memoir

Everything I Know About Love - Dolly Alderton

my review : ✮✮✮

Dolly’s writing was so fun to read. Per my past review, let me remind you guys that I am an ignorant American…. I had no clue who Dolly was but now I am a HUGE fan of her writing.

This book is a lovely treat. There is both darkness and light in Dolly’s memoir and I found the trip through her memories very enjoyable.

This book made me want to pick up a pen and start cataloging how I have been filling my 28 years of life!! I am sure my writing won’t hold a candle to Dolly’s but if I’ve learned anything from this book is that that doesn’t matter! Do what makes you happy.

It is worth noting that this book is a very cute addition to your book shelf or coffee table, the cover will make you happy!

Best enjoyed with a cold glass of Crémant (or, as Dolly calls it, 30-something Prosecco)

One of Dolly’s 28 Lessons Learned: 12. Let people laugh at you. Pronounce things wrong. Spill yogurt down your shirt. It’s the greatest relief to finally let it happen!

you’ll love this book if you love:

  • A memoir that will inspire you to contemplate what you have learned along the way

  • An insightful book wrapped up in an aesthetically pleasing cover - what else could we ask for??

my favorite quote:

“Nearly everything I know about love, I've learnt from my long-term friendships with women.”
