The Fury
The Fury - Alex Michaelides
my review : ✮✮✮
I can’t tell if this book was just MEH or if this is a case of expectations being too high. I think The Silent Patient is one of my favorite thrillers ever. The setting of this book was so atmospheric and perfect, and the storytelling was paced in a way I really appreciate in a thriller. I just wanted more! I can’t put my finger on what exactly went wrong for me, nor do I want to because I know so many of you intend to read this, so I don’t want to spoil a thing. But PLEASE REPORT BACK ONCE YOU’RE FINISHED. I want to discuss. Is it a me issue?
This book is set on a private Greek Island owned by reclusive & world-famous actress Lana Farrar. Lana gathers her nearest and dearest on an island to escape the dreary London weather. The trip ends in a murder, and the narrator is one of the attendees of this lavish getaway.
I think I am in the minority in terms of not loving this, so be sure to give it a try, especially if you’re a fan of Knives Out (I am!), as it reminded me of the most recent installment! While it wasn’t a love for me, if you have it on your TBR, I don’t want to deter you. It will be a quick read for you, and then you’ll come back here and tell me what you think!!
I will give Alex Michaelides this: his books are all vastly different, which seems like quite a feat! He will remain an auto-buy author for me!
you’ll love this book if you love:
