Vladimir
Vladimir - Julia May
my review : ✮✮
Oh, Vladimir. Buy this for the cover.
I had moments of appreciation for this book and moments of long drawn-out eye rolls. I found the writing to be exhausting.
I would classify this as a long, and at times tedious, character study.
In the end… I just did not care about these characters. I think the book was trying too hard. Or, I was trying too hard to be someone who enjoys this book.
I will say, the writing incited such visceral reactions from time to time, I cannot deny this author is a talented writer.
Simply put, this may just not be my cup of tea.
Our unnamed protagonist does know how to mix a martini and make a charcuterie board. If I were you, I would skip this book and instead make a martini (I prefer mine very dirty with gin) and enjoy it with gorgeous olives stuffed with creamy blue cheese. You’re not missing anything.
you’ll love this book if you love:
The cover (lol)
Extremely character-driven plots
