The Ex Vows
The Ex Vows - Jessica Joyce
my review : ✮✮✮✮
Second chance perfection. If you’re looking for a romance novel rooted in reality (no billionaire mob bosses here!!), look no further. This story is full of anticipation and tension and filled to the brim with longing. The writing was the kind that made me want to slow down and savor the story.
Eli & Georgia seemed like the forever kind of couple- but 5 years ago, they called it quits yet remain “friends” for the sake of their mutual BFF, Alex. As Alex’s wedding nears, Georgia has lists upon lists created to help the wedding go perfectly and protect her heart. When, with one week to go, everything that can go wrong with the wedding seems to be, Eli and Georgia are tasked with heading to Napa to sort out the vendors and save the wedding. Two exes… 5 years later… one week together on a vineyard……. SWOON.
I couldn’t believe how emotional this book made me! It was refreshing to read about two adults who were going to therapy and working on their shit (I will be the first to admit some of my favorite romances involve couples who could have probably used a little bit of therapy before getting together). This story felt like a real-life love story between two well-adjusted adults- refreshing! I was swooning nonstop, and without spoiling anything the ending was perfection for a hopeless romantic (Alexa: play Paper Rings by Taylor Swift)!!!
Best paired with a chardonnay… I would recommend Rombauer! It is the only one I can drink (not a big chard girl, but I will indulge if you twist my arm…!)! I will be enjoying a glass tonight while daydreaming about Eli & Georgia & tall oak trees & swimming pools & passionfruit cake.
p.s…. If you’ve read this, am I alone in saying, “Alex! Stop putting so much on these people!! Figure out your own wedding”?! LOL.
you’ll love this book if you love:
A romance novel rooted in reality
An emotional romance
Second chance romance
