Zero Days

Zero Days - Ruth Ware

my review : ✮✮✮

This is a thriller for the current day and age as it tackles the dark & fascinating world of cyber security.

Jack and Gabe are a husband and wife duo hired by big companies to try to break into their business, both physically and virtually, to understand any blind spots and vulnerabilities they have. The couple loves the fast paced jobs that play to both of their strengths, Jack at sly maneuvers and Gabe at coding and all things online. The life and job they’ve cultivated comes crashing down when Jack comes home from work one day to find her husband dead. Once the police get involved, it’s clear she is suspect #1. Jack realizes the only one who is going to clear her name is herself, so she relies on her well-honed skills to find Gabe’s killer.

I’m always looking for a thriller that isn’t so creepy that it keeps me up at night. This book definitely fit the bill on that front; it felt more like watching an action movie. To me, it felt a bit different than Ruth’s other works, and I found the story a bit drawn out and repetitive at times. Jack, to me, was the character in a horror movie, always doing the exact opposite of what I wanted her to do! Overall, the book was entertaining but not a love for me! I will, of course, keep reading Ruth Ware’s future books because I have so enjoyed some of her other books
