Once More with Feeling

Once More with Feeling - Elissa Sussman

my review : ✮✮✮

This second-chance romance was brimming with tension and had me at the edge of my seat.

This story is about Kathleen Rosenberg and Cal Kirby. Kathleen is better known to the world as Katee Rose—THE pop star for a generation. She now enjoys a more ordinary life ever since she blew up her career as Katee Rose decades ago. When she was an international pop sensation, she dated a member of the most popular boy band at the time. They were America’s sweetheart couple until one night when she risked it all to be with Cal Kirby, another group member, who seems to be the only person in the world who understands Katee. That is, until the whole world turns their back on Katee, including Cal. Kathleen’s life looks a lot different after her fall from grace, but she’s thrilled to finally have the Broadway break she dreamt of starring in her best friend’s show. That is until she learns Cal, who she hasn’t spoken to since that fateful night, is the director.

I love how this story was written, and I was totally enamored with the world of theater, which I know so little about. I was utterly swept up in Cal & Kathleen’s story but felt myself wanting more by the end. Going to write some spoiler thoughts below, so please skip them if you haven’t read the book yet.

Overall, I enjoyed the writing, pacing, and butterfly-inducing moments, but something was missing for me. Still a fun read, though!

P.S. This isn’t a B.R.A.D., but it does have some open-door scenes!
