Just for the Summer

Just for the Summer - Abby Jimenez

my review : ✮✮✮✮

I have made it pretty clear that I thoroughly enjoy an Abby Jimenez love story. There’s nothing light or fluffy about these books, but she does an excellent job of balancing the heavy stuff with some humor. She writes a love story that you can imagine actually happening in real life. Maybe the most unbelievable parts of her stories are how well adjusted the love interests are! LOL.

Justin has been cursed his entire dating life; every girl he dates goes on to meet their soulmate after dating him. When he vents about this on Reddit and Emma sees the post, she decides to reach out because she is also plagued by the same curse! They decide the only logical next step is to date and break up so they can break their curse and meet their soulmate! A fling, just for the summer….

Abby writes excellent banter, has three-dimensional characters, and isn’t afraid to tackle the hard stuff. She will remain an auto-buy author for me.

This book (along with all of her other ones) can be read standalone. However, to get the full Abby Jimenez experience, I recommend reading her books in order because they are all GREAT and riddled with easter eggs that are so fun to uncover! My favorite Abby Jimenez book remains The Happy Ever After Playlist!

My book had a Q&A with the author in the back. Understanding her thought process around the characters, the physiologists & mental health experts she worked with, & why she made some of the decisions she did was fascinating to me! Please let me know if this isn’t in the back of your book, and I’ll try to find a link!

you’ll love this book if you love:

  • Abby Jimenez

  • Realistic love stories

  • A summertime romance
