Greenwich Park
Greenwich Park - Katherine Faulkner
my review : ✮✮✮✮
My expectations were through the roof for this book, which we all know is the worst possible way to enter a book (unless you’re reading one of my 5 star picks… hehe). I was ready for a 5/5 going into this because everyone is raving about it! I thought it was very good… and I think that’s enough!
Ok, here is my usual “it’s impossible to review a thriller without giving anything away” spiel…. With that in mind, let’s get into it:
Helen lives the most envy-inducing life: dreamy husband, gorgeous house, perfect bébé on the way. Suddenly, her world begins to change when she meets Rachel at her mom-to-be class. Rachel is a single mom who is very unpredictable… she smokes, drinks, and is the exact opposite of Helen. Helen needs a friend though, and Rachel is the perfect person for that role. As Rachel becomes increasingly erratic, Helen starts regretting her decision to bring Rachel into her life.
This was a slow burn thriller, with short chapters you’ll whip through, and a plot that will keep you on the edge of your seat. I will say I wasn’t as stumped as I usually am reading a thriller - maybe I am getting smarter (doubt it) or maybe this story was a little easier to figure out?
Overall, I would recommend picking it up. Have you read it??? Did we love the ending??
Best paired with mulled wine, prepared the exact opposite way it’s prepared in the book.
xx
Oh finally - Is it just me or do you fall off your chair when you like a book and realize it’s the first book this person has EVER WRITTEN? Isn’t that crazy?? Oh - this book falls in that category.
PS I feel like Greg Brady in these pants… in a good way.
you’ll love this book if you love:
A slow burn thriller
Watching a seemingly perfect life unravel
