A Flicker in the Dark
A Flicker in the Dark - Stacy Willingham
my review : ✮✮✮
When I read the premise of this book, I was sold: daughter of convicted serial killer becomes child psychologist. I was fascinated because I feel like this was such a fresh POV!
The book follows Chloe Davis, whose Dad was convicted of kidnapping and murdering 6 teenage girls when she was 12. Her dad is currently behind bars and she is living a normal life, working as a child psychologist and getting ready for her wedding. As the 20 year anniversary of her dad’s crimes close in, local teenage girls go missing again…
It was a quick and fast paced read but I just found the narrator a bit hard to root for and the plot points to be predictable. If it seems I’m being too hard on this book it may be because I’ve been spoiled by incredible stories lately!
Is it wrong to say I’m tired of the female pill popping narrator who I don’t know if I can trust?
Still a quick and engrossing read best paired with a A La Louisiane cocktail as a nod to where the book is based!
