How to End a Love Story

How to End a Love Story - Yulin Kuang

my review : ✮✮✮✮

This is a heavy and moving romance that still manages to be steamy—a feat! Don’t go into this book thinking you’re going to get a light and fluffy read. It’s incredibly well written and a bit reminiscent of Emily Henry’s writing style.

This story is about Helen Zhang, a best-selling YA fiction writer whose series is being turned into a TV show. She temporarily relocates to LA to join the writers’ room that’s creating the show, and she’s shocked to find out Grant Shepard is on the team. Helen hasn’t seen Grant Shepard since he showed up at her sister’s funeral, and she kicked him out. Grant is the homecoming king golden boy from her hometown, and Helen is the more reclusive & driven newspaper editor. The only thing they have in common is the traumatic experience that they share.

I loved this author’s voice and thought the steamy scenes were delicious!

To be totally honest, having lost a sister around the same age, I find this whole subject matter absurdly close to home, so I feel I can’t impartially judge this book. So, long story short, I think I would have loved this book if it weren’t for my background, and I am instead looking forward to Yulin’s next release!

you’ll love this book if you love:

  • A deep and emotional romance

  • Emily Henry’s writing style
