Going There
Going There - Katie Couric
my review : ✮✮✮✮✮
I cannot separate my rating of this book from my rating of Katie!
Reading this book was like joining your Best friend to dish over coffee and a flaky croissant… and then the day disappears and the coffee turns to a crisp dry glass of Sancerre.
Like many Americans, I feel like I knew Katie my whole life, like she grew up in the background of many of my memories. Reading this book written by Katie’s unique and lovable voice was like walking down memory lane. A memory lane filled with love, loss, and laughter. I found this story to be a total delight. Katie is so refreshingly honest as she reflects on her personal and professional life. She is fearless and funny. A true trailblazer and someone who I feel I would click with instantly if I ever ran into her (I know I am not alone in that feeling).
I was so touched by this story and smitten with the love radiating from this woman for her friends, family, and country. Her self deprecating humor was the cherry on top of an already delicious sundae 🍨
You’ll laugh, you’ll cry, you’ll crave a seven layer caramel cake.
best paired with the aforementioned dry Sancerre (or a very fine Barolo if you want to break the bank à la Katie’s first date with her now hubby- maybe expensive wine is the key to true love??)
xx
🎧 : for my audiobook lovers, I hear this is an amazing audiobook as Katie reads it to you!

“The only way it can work is for you to throw yourself on the mercy of the audience and hope they like you for what you really, truly, honestly are.”
