The Restoration of Celia Fairchild
The Restoration of Celia Fairchild - Marie Bostwick
my review : ✮✮✮
I love a book that leaves you feeling hopeful.
I would never have read this if I wasn’t walking aimlessly through the library scanning barcodes on Goodreads and reading reviews.
This story follows Celia Fairchild writer of a wildly popular advice column who is able to solve everyone’s problems but her own. Still reeling from her ugly divorce, she gets a call from a private adoption lawyer saying she’s been shortlisted for adoption. Celia throws herself into proving she’s a perfect adoptive mother material — only to lose her job. Her one option: sell the Charleston house left to her by her aunt who recently passed away. Arriving in Charleston, Celia learns that the house is in DESPERATE need of renovations if she’s going to sell it. With the help of eclectic neighbors (think Gilmore Girls townsfolk) & old friends Celia restores much more than her new home.
This endearing story should be enjoyed with a Charleston Fizz 🍸
“Love is complicated, restoration takes time”

A heartwarming story that is grounded in friendship
A story and characters that feel genuine and charming
my favorite quote:
“Old friends remind us of who we were and what we’ve become. New friends hint at who we could be and inspire us to move forward. We need both, the new and old, the grounding of the past and hope for the future, because life is terrible and wonderful all at once, and too hard to face alone.”
