Lease on Love

Lease on Love - Falon Ballard

my review : ✮✮✮

I needed an escape. Don’t we all right now? This was the perfect retreat for me.

I found this book incredibly sweet and refreshing.

Our story follows funny and sassy Sadie who sadly was just passed up for a much deserved promotion and subsequently gets fired. When Sadie tries to figure out how the hell she is going to sort out her living situation, the perfect brownstone lands in her lap. It is owned by Jack, a reclusive and quiet young man who is Sadie’s opposite. As Sadie infuses fun and warmth into Jack’s house with the help of her lively group of friends, Jack finds his house is slowly but surely turning into a home.

A quick, easy, breezy, adorable read. It avoided a lot of frustrating elements other romcoms employ so I found it refreshing. Yes, our protagonist swears like a sailor and that’s just something we have to get past. I found her super likable and fun to get to know.

There’s nothing more comforting than a romcom, is there?

These people drink so much wine they put Olivia Pope to shame… obviously best paired with red wine (maybe a fun blend??).

Cheers!
