The Wreckage of My Presence
The Wreckage of My Presence - Casey Wilson
my review : ✮✮✮✮✮
To me, this was 5 stars simply because I laughed my way through this and I think it is very hard to make a funny book.
Casey Wilson fills this book with stories that make me love her, she does not shy away from being vulnerable, and her prose is so refreshing. Reading this book feels like being 2 martinis in with an old friend, and is there any better feeling in the world??? 🍸
She narrates the audiobook and after looking at the Goodreads reviews, I made a massive mistake by not listening to this one!!
Best paired with orange wine!! Which Casey loves! I have not yet tried, but let’s embark on this orange wine journey together. The only other place I have seen orange wine is @nikkibot’s instagram!! I will report back when I can track some down.
you’ll love this book if you love:
An audiobook! - she narrates and the reviews are through the roof
Happy Endings (the show!!!), anything Bravo, Dolly Alderton, laughing, etc
A genuinely hilarious memoir
my favorite quote:
“And while most parents would separate their kids or scream at them to stop, my dad would look at the clock and yell, “Annnnnnnnd this begins our two-minute fighting period! GOOOOO.” And for the full two minutes, we would beat the shit out of each other. If one of us was getting truly hurt, my mom would cry out, “Paul, stop, make them stop!” And my dad would say, “Kathy, you KNOW I can’t stop them during the formal fighting period. It’s out of my hands.”
