Butcher and Blackbird

Butcher and Blackbird - Brynne Weaver

my review : ✮✮✮✮

Things you NEED TO KNOW AND BE ON BOARD WITH BEFORE PICKING THIS UP!!!
- This book is batshit crazy
-CONTAINS GORE GALORE!!!! Don’t make my mistake and think, “How gory can a romance really be?” IT IS GORY! I had to skip entire paragraphs.
- There is a CANNIBALISM SCENE THAT RUINED AN ENTIRE NIGHT OF SLEEP FOR ME (not a spoiler, but it feels necessary to know going into it)
- THE LEADING MAN HAS A VERY HOT ACCENT

I will post the author’s trigger warnings because if you have a trigger (for instance, I learned mine is cannibalism), IT IS PROBABLY IN HERE.

All that said, this is a totally sexy, tension-filled, angsty, hot, dark, addictive romance novel. THIS IS A SLOW BURN, BUT WHEN IT BURNS, IT’S SCORCHING HOT.

The gore is graphic! The sex is graphic! I like one of those things to be graphic, but I put up with the former to get to the latter!!!

I would not recommend this to a single person in my life except for my sister & one of my girlfriends (you know who you are). Like, it’s one of those books where you have to have a few screws loose to like it (🙋🏽‍♀️), and you don’t want to recommend it and have your mom’s friends wondering WTF is wrong with you as they’re reading it.

This book is about two hot serial killers who only kill other serial killers. They decide to have a yearly contest where they see who can kill some evil dude first. They’re also obviously insanely attracted to each other.

I’ve heard the audiobook is required listening because the brogue on the leading man is 🥵.

THIS SHOULD BE ON MY TV SCREEN! ONLY IF EVERYONE IS GORGEOUS AND HBO ALLOWS US TO DO IT RIGHT!

This is book 1 in a trilogy, with each book focusing on one Kane brother. Book two is about Lachlane Kane, who distracted me the whole time. Of the three, he’s my fictional type. And there’s a fake marriage in his book! I’m sweating!

you’ll love this book if you love:

  • BRADs

  • Dark romance
