Weather Girl

Weather Girl - Rachel Lynn Solomon

my review : ✮✮✮

This is a very sweet romance with a surprising amount of depth.

Ari Adams is finally working her dream job as a meteorologist, and her boss is a legend in the weather world who Ari has always looks up to. Unfortunately, Ari is disappointed to find out that her boss is too distracted by her contentious relationship with her ex-husband (who also works at the station) to properly offer Ari any mentorship. Enter: total shy and sweet sports reporter Russell Barringer, who works for said ex-husband and whose life would also be easier if the dueling ex-couple could figure it out. Ari and Russell soon put together a plan á la Parent Trap to covertly bring their bosses together so they can finally have peace in the office. Little do they know, all of the meddling and secret meetings may lead to their own sparks flying……

Overall, a cute and quick romcom that will leave you with a smile. My favorite part of the story is how the main character deals with depression; it’s well done and great to see in a book like this.

I have to say- and this is totally personal opinion - this wasn’t a “can’t-eat-can’t-sleep-World-Series type romance” for me 😳. Meaning, it was a book I was fine putting down for a few hours and wasn’t pining for the characters long after the epilogue like other romances that top my favorite list. I was missing a spark! Where’s the chemistry?! Is that just me???

This book is best paired with a whiskey sour!
