Things We Left Behind
Things We Left Behind
Lucy Score
my review : ✮✮✮✮
This is book 3 in the Knockemout series. In my honest opinion, Book 1 was great, Book 2 was a snooze fest, and Book 3 is exceptional (for a B.R.A.D.!). I have been crushing on Sloan and Lucien as a couple throughout books 1 and 2 as they made their cameos. Their passion-filled hatred towards each other left me wanting MORE. This book delivers. It’s an angsty, steamy, second-chance romance. Friends-to-enemies-to-lovers. Lucien is a tall, dark, handsome, powerful billionaire, and Sloan is the sweet and vivacious woman who runs the library in Knockemout. They grew up next to each other, something terrible happened, and now they hate each other. Do I need to say anything more??? OK, I will! They decide to get each other out of their systems (nothing I love more in a romance), and ObViOuSlY, they won’t fall for each other because Sloan is ready to get married and have babies, and Lucien is ready to do the exact opposite!!
I had so much fun reading this book. It’s a romance with a bit of true crime mixed in? Nothing crazy, but just enough for the heroine’s life to (maybe??) be in danger and the guy to be totally protective, brooding, and hot about the whole thing. If you like a B.R.A.D., you’re going to love this. If you’re not a B.R.A.D. reader, I would skip this series. If you’ve always been curious to try a B.R.A.D., I’d start with book 1!
Best paired with a Bloody Mary, a margarita, or, if you’re lazy like I was tonight, a few fingers of bourbon.
