We Were Never Here

We Were Never Here - Andrea Bartz

my review : ✮✮✮

This book gave me nightmares! Might be a personal problem but I thought I’d warn you guys.

Two best friends from college take their yearly trip to a new, exotic, and off the beaten path locations. This year they are in the mountains of Chile living their best lives. On the last night of the trip, Emily returns home to their hotel room to find blood and broken glass on the floor. Kristen says the cute backpacker she'd been flirting with attacked her, and she had no choice but to kill him in self-defense. Even more disturbia? The scene is horrifyingly similar to last year's trip. Emily can't believe it's happened again--can lightning really strike twice (fun fact- yes it can! lightning can, and often does, strike the same place repeatedly, but that is irrelevant to this story…. Or is it?!?)

Total Single White Female Vibes. Creepy, entertaining, and bizarre. Perfect quick thriller to get you in the mood for spooky season! Since Reese slapped her sticker on this I can see Hulu coming out with a mini series that will slap.

Best paired with The Last Word ( 🍹 credit: @r.e.n.e.e.k ) equal parts gin, green chartreuse, maraschino liquor, and lime juice. Shake with ice and serve!!.

you’ll love this book if you love:

  • Single White Female

  • A truly creepy and uncanny thriller
