The Lies I Tell

The Lies I Tell - Julie Clark

my review : ✮✮✮✮

A female con artist who targets gross men? What more could you want! I love a book that has you cheering for the “bad guy”.

Our story follows two women… Meg Williams has gone by many different names depending on her target, she’s a con-artist who becomes whatever her subject needs her to be. Kat Roberts is a struggling reporter who has been obsessed with Meg ever since she upended her life years ago. As she grows closer to Meg, she realizes there’s much more to her than what her assumptions have left her to believe.

I found this thriller to be totally satisfying. It is a very quick read, perfect for enjoying poolside. There’s some darker subject matter, but nothing that kept me awake at night.

I am dying to read The Last Flight by the same author because everyone seems to adore it! Added it to my list ✍️

How could I not pair it with the Con Artist’s Collins (I found this recipe on Maxim and it is very fancy.. I mean, there’s ROSE WATER in it!!).. (1 1/2 parts Strawberry Lemonade vodka (svedka makes one), 3/4 part fresh lemon juice, 1/2 part elderflower liqueur, 1/2 part simple syrup, 3 drops rose water… shake ingredients well and strain into a chilled Martini glass.)

Cheers!!

you’ll love this book if you love:

  • A palatable thriller that won’t leave you disturbed - but is still very addicting

  • Promising Young Woman
